Welcome to Spar

Spar is a fast-paced 2-player card game of strategy and timing. Use only cards 6 through King to outplay your opponent and stack your way to victory!

🎮 How to Play

🎯 Objective

Be the first to reach the point goal by being "on top" and playing high-value cards in the right order.

🃏 Setup

• Deck: Standard 52-card deck, using only ranks 6–K (no Aces, 2–5, or Jokers)
• Players: 2
• Each player is dealt 5 cards

Valid Hands must:

• Contain at least one red and one black suit
• Include at least one card ranked 10 or higher

🔁 Gameplay

The starting player plays any card. The opponent must follow the suit if possible:

• If they match the suit and play a higher card, they are "on top" and play again
• If they match the suit with a lower card, the first player stays "on top" and plays again
• If they can't match the suit, they may play any card — the first player stays "on top"

Continue until all 5 cards are played per player.

🧮 Scoring

Only the player "on top" at the end scores:

• 6 → 3 points
• 7 → 2 points
• 8–K → 1 point

Stacking: If the last card is a 6 or 7, check earlier cards — each 6 adds 3, each 7 adds 2. Stacking stops at a card ranked 8 or higher.

Example: 10 – K – 7 – 6 – 7 = 7 points (2 + 3 + 2)

🏁 Win Condition

The game continues in rounds until one player reaches the target point goal (e.g., 20 or 30). That player wins!
